To maximize the quality, longevity and safety of your candles, we recommend the following essential care tips.
-
Always burn your soy candle within site, away from children and anything flammable. Avoid drafty areas. Drafts can cause uneven burns, soot, and smoke.
-
The first time you light your candle, let it burn long enough to create a full melt pool across the surface. This should take about 1-2 hours, depending on the candle size. A full melt pool prevents tunneling and ensures even future burns.
-
Always trim the wick to about 1/8” before each use. This helps control the flame size and maintains an even burn. If the wick is too long, it may cause the candle to smoke or burn unevenly.
-
Always burn your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface away from flammables.
-
Stop burning your candle when only 1/2″ of wax remains. If you choose to continue to burn a low wax candle the heat will transfer to the glass instead of the wax which can cause issue.
-
Don’t burn your candle for more than four hours at a time. This is a really important one! When you burn it for too long, the wax becomes fully liquid and causes movement of the wick.
